Caring for a Heavy Patient

Question: Our patients seem to be getting heavier and when I'm by myself it's hard to provide their care. Do you have any tips in caring for the larger person.

You are soooo right. We are a nation of expanding waistlines. First of all if you have the opportunity to get help - ASK!. I used to work in Spinal Cord and we each had a team partner and would set our alarm to go every two hours to turn or change a patient. So find a peer and see if you can get regular help - easier for both of you, save your own body and more comfortable for the patient. The video below may help we have several more.
