Question: My Aunt has COPD and had really declined recently. Should she be on hospice?
The Hospice Care Plan Response: Patients Pulmonary Disease have specific criteria as they decline that prove their need for hospice care. For a patient to be admitted to hospice care under Medicare, certain standards must be met to ensure eligibility. Specific criteria for different terminal conditions may include evidence of disease progression. In this series we review the disease-specific guidelines for each of the major diagnoses.
