When to just NOT transfer a patient out of bed...

odonatacare

Question: Thank you for the tips..my elderly dad (90ish ) has been helping my mom (85ish -just had hip surgery and is wheelchair bound) at home . As a caregiver , I've been trying to teach my dad some tips. I like the way you lowered the head position of the client, which I'll tell my dad to do. Just curious if you have tips how to transfer a client with only one caregiver available who is too weak (both client and caregiver) to transfer?

The Hospice Care Plan Response: Sometimes it is just not safe to transfer a patient anymore - or at least for that day...they are too weak or the caregiver doesn't have enough strength to undertake the process for everyone's safety. Choose NOT to transfer and provide good care in bed. CLICK HERE for your copy
